The song ‘Jasmine’ by Jai Paul has been out since March of 2012, but I guess Paper Diamond figured this was as good a time as any to mess around and remix it. It’s an interesting, jarring take on the song, where the original is a sort of soundtrack for hipster porn, the remix adopts more of a disco-ball in a roller-rink vibe.
Despite the fact that he’s stopped aging, Tiesto insists on celebrating his birthday every year just like the rest of us. But, perhaps he’s feeling a little guilty about it because he decided to give the rest of the world a gift of a remix on his birthday. His version of John Legend’s “All of Me” makes a compelling case that this could be what the song was meant to sound like all along. Listen below and trade your email address for the download here.
One of my big misses for 2013 was Australian producer Flume, who crafts incredible 90’s hip-hop grafted onto new glitch-hop sounds, backed by an amazing cast of MC’s to complete the sound. He’s worth a listen. Flume is one guy named Harley, and Harley is one half of What So Not, along with Chris Emerson (Emoh Instead). They create a more poppy sound, and were kind enough to make this song available at the low, low charge of a Facebook like.
