frankles free fridaysBig Boi got most of the attention when the ‘Catch the Throne’ mixtape was released, but Wale’s close-out track about Jamie Lannister, titled “King Slayer” is no slouch.  All the songs are available here, but I’m highlighting Wale’s contribution because it sounds like he actually read the books, and also wanted to make a legitimate song about the existential crisis that is Jamie.

De La Soul is/are the gift-givers that just keep on giving.  Instead of giving away all their old music, now they’ve decided to give away some new…old music.  The mixtape is courtesy of the late J Dilla, the vocals and arrangement of those vocals are sourced from classic De La tracks.  It’s called “Smell The Da I.S.Y.”  If you’re wondering, the acronym stands for ‘Da Inner Soul of Yancy.”  Click the photo below to access the download.

Steve Angello decided to celebrate his record label, Size’s 10th anniversary by giving away the entire catalog at no cost through the Google Play store.  The catalog is an impressive list of producers, including Angello, Tim Berg (Avicii), Marcus Schossow, Sebastian Ingrosso and many, many more.  Available for a limited time here.  Make sure you scroll to the bottom and download all four compilations to secure the entire catalog.

*edit: REALLY sorry about listing Opiuo here earlier today as ‘free.’  It is in fact not free, it actually costs $10 AUD, which stand for ‘Australian Dollars,’ and is apparently equivalent to real money and not just some kind of made up funny money.
